EDUCATIONAL VALUE OF SCOUTING/GUIDING :-

  • Scouting & Guiding are excellent means to develop the character of the student & to prepare them to become responsible citizen.
  • Scouting & guiding curriculum was started in Shivaji English Medium School & Jr. College, Saswad, from the year 2013.
  • The first batch of Scout & Guide included 85 students in which there were 46 Scouts and 39 Guides.
  • They completed 3 years basic course and glad to say all students enjoyed all activities.
  • During Rajya Melava and Zilla Melava, students used to live in Tents and were encouraged to cook food by themselves using fire camp. They also used to go for hiking using map and compass. These camps inculcated social values due to the system of community living.
  • Scout and Guide is considered to promote patriotism, social awareness, to learn good values and habits in students.
  • Experience is said to be best teacher and Scouting and Guiding gives students best experience through activities conducted in School as well as during Melava.
